PTO Activities:
FUN LUNCH: Next Wednesday, March 1st
COMPOSTING: Students are doing AWESOME at fun lunch composting! Just a friendly reminder of what goes where. Please chat about it with your child(ren) to help get them excited! Thank you!
All-School Read: Next Wednesday, March 1st, students will learn about the Cumberland All-School Read! Can you guess what book we're reading? We can’t wait to celebrate National Reading Month with all of our Cumberland families! Please check backpacks after school on March 1st.
Book Drive Begins March 1st: You can give the gift of reading during National Reading Month in March. We will have a Book Drive of children's books for the Next Door Foundation and children in Milwaukee! Please gather books that are in good condition to donate - we are specifically looking for books for 0 to 5 year olds, and chapter books for elementary, middle and high school age readers. We are unable to accept encyclopedias, textbooks, teacher’s manuals, magazines, curriculum materials, and library discards. Look for Book Drive collection bins in the vestibule by Door 1 beginning March 1st.
Parent Information Night on Educational Equity: On Monday, March 6th, 6:30 pm we are excited to invite you to our upcoming Parent Information Night. We will be discussing Educational Equity as defined by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction. This important informational evening event will take place in the Cumberland Great Room. Information will be shared on the initiatives and programs we have in place to ensure that all students have access to the resources and educational rigor they need to succeed in school.
In addition to a presentation from Randee Drew, District Equity and Student Engagement Coordinator, there will also be opportunities for you to ask questions and provide feedback on our efforts in this area.
